What this site is
General preparedness information for UK and US households facing the 2026-27 El Niño winter, built from official sources. Each action names its source and the date we read it.
What it is not
It is not personal, legal, medical or insurance advice. Official warnings, local authorities and emergency services always take priority over anything here. In an emergency call 999 (UK) or 911 (US).
Accuracy
We check each fact against its primary source and fix mistakes publicly. See corrections. Costs are planning ranges, not quotes. Deadlines, such as flood insurance waiting periods, can change: check the official source linked beside the action.
